Fondation Hartung-Bergman

New Hartung display, Fall 2013

The Hartung-Bergman foundation will make a deposit of 138 etchings to the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica of Rome. For this event, a solo exhibition will be held at the Palazzo Poli from the 12th of December. It will show a part of this deposit alongside paintings and works on paper.

A selection of the works to be sent to Rome is currently on display in the gallery of the foundation. This exhibition allows the beholder to question the very peculiar link between etching and painting in Hartung’s work. For the artist, the etching isn’t just a way to rephrase a plastic language. It is a technical process which is a source of inspiration leading to crucial pictorial experimentations throughout his work.
