Fondation Hartung-Bergman

Welcoming researchers

The Hartung-Bergman Foundation offers extremely rich documentary resources to art historians, above all to specialists of the twentieth century. But the exceptional quality of its architectural heritage, its archives and its collection of works makes it very useful and even indispensable for anyone interested in all disciplines of the humanities, to issues as diverse as abstraction, illustration, photography, art market, relationships between art and war, religion or philosophy, the function of the studio, photography, critical reception ... Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman were also the center of social and cultural circles from which remaining writings and documents give much information on the eminent actors of their century.

On a larger scale, the Foundation is open to questions that go beyond the direct study of Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman’s works. It provides a framework and tools for reflection throughout ambitious topics that haven’t fully found their place in the academic field yet.

The reception of researchers may be facilitated by mobility grants that finance travel and stay. They are awarded throughout the year and on a case by case basis.

The offer is primarily open to art historians; however, it can be also granted to researchers in humanities and social sciences.

Any application has to be sent to the following address:
